How the avatar engine works

Culturally tailored asset library

The asset library was designed from scratch for the Indian market. Hairstyles include styles specific to different Indian regions and occasions. Clothing options cover both Western and traditional Indian attire — sarees, kurtas, sherwanis, lehengas. Accessories include culturally specific jewellery, bindis, and traditional headwear. Skin tones reflect the actual diversity of the Indian population.

Real-time rendering pipeline

Each avatar element — face shape, skin tone, hairstyle, clothing, accessories — is a separate layer. As users make selections, the rendering pipeline composites layers in real time to show the updated avatar instantly. The pipeline is optimised for mid-range Android devices where GPU capability is limited.

Sticker generation and keyboard
